DONCEEL

The current chateau of Donceel dates back to the 17th and 18th century. Although there is already a paper that speaks about a certain Godefrein van Doncaster who buys two houses in 1456 to have the space to erect a castle. The castle goes to the Hemricourt family in the seventeenth century and alter on to the Chester family who still own it now. It was Jean-Remi de Chester who remodelled the castle between 1767 and 1769 into what we still can see today. The castle is private property but can be viewed from the public road.
