SAMSON

The ruins of the stronghold of Samson can tell us a story that goes back to the Roman times. The first thing we know about medieval times is that the Normans besieged the fortress in the 9th century. The last time the castle was under siege was in the 16th century during the reign of Don Juan of Austria.
The castle was demolished in 1690 on orders of King Charles II of Spain.
I had no time to explore the ruin on this visit so you can expect more pictures after my next visit.
